The Damage Gophers Cause to Your Property

Gophers can quickly devastate lawns, high-end landscaping, gardens, irrigation systems, and athletic fields. Because pocket gophers spend almost their entire lives underground, effective gopher control requires locating active tunnels and treating the burrow system at the source—not simply leveling the dirt mounds you see on the surface.

Since 2012, Go-Pher The Kill has specialized in professional gopher extermination. We proudly provide residential and commercial gopher control throughout Riverside County, San Bernardino County, and surrounding Southern California communities.

Our Proven 30-Day Gopher Control Process

Our standard residential service features a comprehensive 30-day control program that targets active underground burrow systems and includes follow-up visits to ensure the infestation is completely eliminated.

1. Initial Inspection and Treatment

During our first visit, a licensed technician will thoroughly inspect your property to identify fresh mounds and locate the active underground tunnel systems. We then treat these burrows using professional, highly effective gopher-control products placed safely below the surface according to strict label directions. We may also level existing mounds so that any fresh activity can be easily identified during future inspections.

2. Strategic Follow-Up Visits

Most properties require two to three follow-up visits during the 30-day service period. During these visits, we monitor the treated areas for new activity and perform additional underground treatments wherever active tunnels are found.

3. Comprehensive 30-Day Coverage

Your treated areas are fully covered for 30 days. If a fresh gopher mound appears anywhere on the property during your service period, simply contact our office to schedule another inspection. Note: Treatment frequency may vary depending on the size of the property, soil conditions, landscaping, proximity to open land, and the severity of the gopher activity.

Treatment Options

Tailored Gopher Treatment Options

We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Based on your property’s needs, we utilize the most effective methods available:

  • Underground Burrow Treatment: This is our standard, highly effective method for most properties. Our technicians apply professional gopher-control products directly inside the active burrows below the surface. This targets the gophers exactly where they live while minimizing disruption to your lawn and surrounding landscape.

  • Targeted Gopher Trapping: Trapping is available upon request or when it is the safest, most appropriate option for a specific property. We place gopher traps deep inside active underground tunnels, never exposed on the surface. (Because trapping generally requires more labor and frequent trap checks, it may be priced differently from our standard burrow-treatment service.)

  • Ongoing Gopher Protection Plans: Properties located near open fields, vacant lots, slopes, golf courses, or undeveloped land often experience recurring gopher pressure. After the initial 30-day service, we highly recommend an ongoing gopher protection plan to monitor your property and address new invaders before extensive damage occurs.

Frequently Asked Questions About Gopher Control

The easiest way to tell the difference is by looking at the dirt mounds. Gopher mounds are typically crescent-shaped or horseshoe-shaped with a plugged hole on one side. Mole hills, on the other hand, are usually perfectly round, volcano-shaped mounds. Additionally, gophers feed on roots and plants, so you will likely notice dying vegetation, whereas moles primarily eat insects and earthworms.

Yes. Because our professional gopher-control products and traps are placed deep inside the active underground tunnels and safely below the surface, they remain out of reach of children and household pets. We prioritize the safety of your family while effectively targeting the pests.

Rarely. Gophers are highly territorial. Once they find a reliable food source and establish a burrow system in your yard, they will stay and continue to expand their network. Without professional intervention, the damage to your landscaping, lawns, and irrigation systems will only worsen over time.
