HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!Posted on Patron AnejoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I called at 9:42 AM and a human being actually answered the telephone. Not a robot!! My monthly subscription evidently afforded me a same day appointment. I was promised a tech would arrive at my home no later than 2:30 PM. I then received a text confirming the appointment. Alex called me at 10:47 AM to let me know he was 15 minutes out. 15 minutes later he arrived, inspected both front and back yards, did what was needed, explained what he did and left. We shall see if we catch any critters Alex will return in a 5 to 7 days. This experience from start to finish could not have been better! Alex could not have been nicer!!
Most species of rodents can dig, but none of them can dig like gophers. These rodents found their niche in digging large and complex tunnel systems in which to live, safe from predators. Gophers spend most of their lives underground, using tunnels for shelter, breeding, and food storage. The main tunnels used by gophers are usually just 6 to 12 inches below ground with multiple cross tunnels leading to the surface. However, some tunnels may descend to 6 feet below the ground. These tunnels can also be shockingly long.
The average gopher tunnel system is 300 to 600 feet – or 100 to 200 yards – long. However, gopher tunnels measuring over 1,000 feet long have been discovered. Remember that these tunnel networks have many different branches and chambers to them. The incredible length of these tunnel systems is also why it can be so difficult for homeowners to get rid of gophers living in their yards. Even a single gopher can dig out a tunnel network that covers an area of comparable size to a basketball court!
It’s worth noting that gophers have an easier time digging through certain soils, allowing them to build long tunnels more quickly. Gophers can most easily burrow their way through sandy, loamy soil because it is so loose and lightweight. As it happens, this is the most common type of soil in the greater Riverside area, which is why gophers are so common and able to dig such large burrows in this region.
